Homecoming 2003 - our 30th!

The following is from Tom Haas regarding the initial work he and several
other classmates and spouses have started in preparation for next year's
big event. Pls provide any feedback or ideas to Tom.

Some of you have already received this info direct from Tom, but you'll
have to suffer through it again. Looking forward to seeing at least
some of you on the 13th.

Hi All
Here we go...Bill and Lauren Plage, Tom and Rose Donlon, Keith Colwell
and Marcia and I got together a week ago to get the plans started for 3oth.
I also heard from Stan Fuger, who reported that he's ready to help as well
as a call from Dan and Kathie Rothaupt supporting locally...heard back from
Dave, Tim and Peter, too.

Here's the "draft"
-lodging and accommodations---Dan and Kathie with Keith will explore
some possibilities soon. There's a new Marriott up and running and the
Mohegan Casino has some possibilities to take care of our needs.
-we'll have a Friday night get-together (casual), probably where we are
accommodated.
-golf on Friday will be through the alumni Office and we'll get parings
with classmates.
Sat am there's campus activities to be highlighted through the alumni
office and we will have 'tail-gate" behind QTRS #5 on the Hill (that's where
the Haaspitality Inn" will set up for the pre-game refreshments.
-Sat after the game is the all-class social.
-Sat night will be our dinner-dance and location again could be at the
central lodging.
-"Favors" or as Bill said the Class geeduk will be explored by him,
Lauren and maybe we can get Stan to help here.
-I remember a slide show at 25th---who put that together???if available
again, maybe it can be "updated" and transformed for a CD?
-I asked Lou Orsini to be the conduit for comms with Buddy Schneeweis
with the Bulletin and Class Correspondent.
-We spoke also about a Class gift to enhance the Class Endowment. Tom
and Rose Donlon (and maybe a committee of a couple of others to help
them...maybe regional coordinators?) can work with John Maxham on goals.
-Sunday usually takes on its own get togethers and we'll continue that
tradition.
-maybe a subsequent Class Outing.
-Other thoughts as this will go to Lou before his annual shindig as his
home...Lou, pls get a pool going and feedback as we move forward.
-We also have some other ides for our march-on and special
guests?...and any thing else that we should consider.

The guys in New England want to help to make the 30th special and easy
for those traveling...

We ended up with a reminisce...remember in July 1969...we got our id
card...it said expires 2003...at that time we gave our own interpretation of
what that meant...mostly it was that we'd be over 50 and "expired"...I
can tell you this...Bill, Tom and Keith and I'm sure the rest of our Class
are a long way off from that, however, when I see the Class of 2003 around
campus...I wonder how they look at 2033...we're moving on...

Hope to hear from you...we're going to reconvene on 31 May at Plage's
home...
