Subject: It's Party Time Again!
Once again this year we will celebrate the most sacred of occasions, April Fool's Day, only one day early. Saturday, March 31 is the chosen date. Mark your calendars, hide the women and children (ok, just the children), and don your most outlandish outfit for an evening of non-ritualistic revelry. If anyone knows what I mean by that, please le me know so I can pass the word. The festivities begin at 1900 (7PM for we civilians) and last until we finish talking about all our classmates who didn't show up. Dress casual (but remember the theme), and bring your favorite hors d'oeuvre, salad, casserole, dessert, or whatever you're famous for. For those with last names beginning A through E please bring a dessert. Those with last names beginning with F-Z should bring something other than a dessert. We'll supply the drinks (beer, wine and soda) and a main dish, along with the usual condiments. If you know any "stupid person" tricks, you can provide the evening's entertainment, although it may be tough to outdo the contest at Jocko's to pick up the paper bag with your teeth. However, that's the standard we now have to live up to. We live at 10802 Hill Cumorah Drive in Fairfax, VA (near Burke, about 1.5 miles south of George Mason University). Regardless of the direction you come from, get on Route 123 (Ox Road). You can pick up Route 123 off Route 66 by taking Exit 60 between the Fair Lakes (if traveling east) and Nutley St (if traveling west) exits. Other primary ways to reach Route 123 include Braddock Road, Burke Centre Parkway, Route 256 (Main St in Fairfax), and Exit 160B on Route 95 around Woodbridge. From the north, cross Braddock Road; University Shopping Center will be on your left. It's a mile to the next light, where you take a left onto Zion Drive (Exxon Mini-Mart on your left). From the south, cross Burke Centre Parkway; Burke Center Shopping Center is on your right. It's about 1.5 miles to Zion Drive where you take a right (fourth traffic light after Burke Centre Parkway). From Zion, take the second right onto Colton Street, and then the first right onto Hill Cumorah Drive. We're the second house on the right (only four houses on the entire street, two on each side). Park anywhere you can. In an effort to reach as many classmates as possible, in addition to those getting this e-mail directly, I will send a separate e-mail to all classmates in the Directory of '73 email Addresses on Bill Barker's web site, and mail a copy to any others I find in the Academy Alumni Directory. If you know of anyone else, please forward this invitation to them as it's getting tougher every year to find people. Please RSVP by March 23 to either Sue or me. My work number is 202-267-1775, home is 703-352-7260. Our home e-mail is: lorsini@ziplink.net. Hope to see you on the 31st. R/Lou
